Features of Niobium Nitride Powder
Solubility: Niobium nitride is insoluble in water but can dissolve in concentrated acid solutions such as hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid. It is also soluble in hot alkaline solutions or high-concentration alkalis, releasing ammonia gas in the process. When heated in air at temperatures ranging from 500 to 800°C, niobium nitride converts to niobium pentoxide while releasing nitrogen gas.
Synthesis Process: The synthesis of niobium nitride powder involves a process where crushed niobium metal is placed into a nitridation furnace. The furnace is charged with niobium metal and nitrogen gas, or ammonia gas, at temperatures between 700 and 1100°C, facilitating the direct synthesis of niobium nitride.

Application:
Discover the exceptional characteristics of our high-quality Niobium Nitride Powder, an essential material widely utilized across various industries. As a critical additive in the manufacture of hard metals, Niobium Nitride serves not only to enhance hardness but also plays a key role in the production of high-purity niobium.
When heated in air at temperatures ranging from 500 to 800 °C, Niobium Nitride undergoes a transformation, resulting in the formation of niobium pentoxide while releasing nitrogen. In vacuum conditions, it decomposes to yield metallic niobium, further demonstrating its versatility in various applications.
Niobium Nitride has a remarkable ability to form solid solutions with other compounds, including titanium carbide, zirconium carbide, vanadium carbide, and tantalum nitride. This property enhances its material performance in diverse applications.
Renowned for its high thermal and chemical stability, Niobium Nitride excels in environments subjected to neutron irradiation, making it an excellent choice for advanced applications. It is particularly notable as a superb superconducting thin-film material, with a critical temperature that marks the transition from normal metals to superconductors. However, similar to most superconductors, its critical temperature is relatively low when deposited as a thin film on nanodevices.
Our Niobium Nitride comes in various forms including Nano Niobium Nitride and Ultra-fine Niobium Nitride, ensuring suitable options for specific industrial needs. Elevate your projects with our premium Niobium Nitride Powder, where quality and performance meet the demands of advanced technological applications.
